Coming to a new chiropractic office can be daunting for many, especially if this is your first time seeing a chiropractor. We are going to make that transition much easier for you, outlining exactly what to expect during your first visit.

Once you have made your booking, which you can do instantly online or by calling 727-603-1761, you will be prompted to complete your online health history. We ask that you complete this at least the day prior to your first appointment so the doctor has time to review in preparation for your visit.

Our step by step new patient process 

CONSULTATION – When you arrive, you’ll be greeted at the front and taken on an office tour before meeting with the doctor for your initial consultation. The doctor will ask about what you’re feeling, how it started, your overall health history, and most importantly, how your condition is impacting your life and what your goals are in the office. The doctor will listen to everything you say, and make sure that he/she thoroughly understand not only what your pain is, but also WHY it’s important for you to get better. The doctor will then explain what we’re looking for in the exam, and how we correct the issues you present with, and how treatment will feel. If we think we can help you get to your goals, and you think we are a good fit to start getting you the results your looking for, then we’ll move to an exam. If we need to refer you to a different practitioner, then we’ll make the referral at that time.

EXAM – If the doctor feels he/she can help you, you can continue forward with a thorough examination. The exam is relatively simple, finding areas of your body that aren’t moving correctly, holding too much tension, or not firing right. We’ll start with a digital posture analysis, check range of motion, individual joint mobility, neurology testing if needed, and orthopedic tests for your area’s of complaint. We’ll end up painting a picture to show why you’re not feeling your best. If at the end of the exam we see any red flags or positive findings for a more severe condition, we will send you off with an order for an x-ray or MRI at our local imaging center to get a proper diagnosis.

MASSAGE – Once the examination is complete and time permits, we will give you the option to do a 10min intro massage in one of our State of the Art massage chairs while the doctor reviews your exam results and puts together a treatment plan. The massage chair will also warm up and loosen your back to prepare you for your first adjustment if indicated that day.

REPORT OF FINDINGS – Next the doctor will sit down with you and explain the findings. We make sure to do this in an easy to understand way. The report of findings will cover all the common questions patients have at a first visit including: “What’s wrong? Can you help me? How long will it take? How much will it cost?”.

FIRST ADJUSTMENT/TREATMENT – After the Report of Findings, if the doctor determines that you are a candidate for our care protocols and it’s safe to begin care, he/she will provide your first Chiropractic Adjustment and any other indicated treatments. Depending on you, your preferences, body type and condition, the doctor will use appropriate techniques. There will be no hidden surprises with our care. From here, we will work together to help you achieve your goals.

DAY TWO – At your next appointment in the office we go over a customized home rehab program including exercises and stretches to complement the care protocols you will receive in the clinic. This appointment will be approximately 20-30 minutes with the doctor and you will also have the opportunity to do your first BrainTap meditation introduction with the massage chair. Your total visit will last approximately one hour.

FOLLOW UP VISITS – Patients may come 15min before any follow up visits to use our complementary intro massage chairs before visits. Follow up treatments are based on your treatment plan and in the initial phase are typically 20min with the doctor including the chiropractic adjustment and any manual therapies needed which may include percussion therapy, stretching, trigger point release, cupping therapy, dry-needling, or instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM). Acupuncture appointments last approximately 30min with the needles left in for roughly 21minuts. Massage chair sessions are optional after treatment for both tension and stress relief and can be 10, 20, or 30min long which we like to pair with BrainTap meditation for a complete whole body relaxation experience.
